We welcome accredited assistance dogs at IPC Health.
To help maintain a safe and comfortable environment for clients, staff and visitors, we welcome assistance dogs, with the following requirements.
Before entering
- Clients must provide evidence of their dog’s accreditation if requested.
- The dog should be toileted before entering IPC Health.
While onsite
- Dogs must remain on a lead, in their harness and always wearing their identification jacket while onsite. This shows that the dog is ‘on duty’.
- Clients are responsible for ensuring all the dog’s needs are met during the visit, including toileting needs.
- Please only use external public areas for toileting.
Areas assistance dogs cannot enter
Assistance dogs are not permitted to enter procedure rooms, sterile stock areas or rooms where food is prepared or eaten.
If you have a Dental or Podiatry appointment, please bring someone who can take responsibility for your dog while you are in the procedure room.
When a dog cannot enter
Dogs with skin infections, ear infections or gastrointestinal infections are excluded from entry.
Dogs being treated with antibiotics are also excluded.
Pets are not regarded as Assistance Dogs
Note: Pets that are not accredited Assistance Dogs are not permitted at IPC Health sites. Only accredited Assistance Dogs are allowed to enter.
