Trish McCluskey

Qualifications: BA (Education), Master of Education (M.Ed), Grad Cert in Educational Leadership Grad Cert in Health Science, Registered Div 1 Nurse

Skills, experience and expertise 

Trish is Chair of the IPC Health Board and has been a director since 2011. She joined the Board following three years on the Council of Victoria University and this role provides an ideal channel for her interest and experience in community health and governance. She is currently the Director of Connected Learning at Victoria University where she leads strategic projects in digital education and academic development. Trish has over 30 yrs experience in Community Mental Health and Higher Education in Northern Ireland, New Zealand and Australia.  She has experienced success and recognition across a range of teaching, leadership, and governance roles including chair of an Academic Board.

Trish is a member of the Council of Australian Directors of Academic Development (CADAD) and Australian Council of Open and Distance Education (ACODE).  Her research interests include the value of Professional Learning Networks, Connected Leadership and Digital Literacy in Health and Education.

Daryl Whitfort

Qualifications: MBA, BBus, CPA, GAICD

Skills, experience and expertise 

Daryl, since October 2007, is the Director Corporate Services for Hume City Council and combined has 28 years’ experience in strategic financial planning, governance, risk management, ICT and customer focus.

As a Board Member, Daryl has contributed to the level of financial and risk literacy though questions that provided understanding for both Board and Committee members, resulting in enhanced financial planning and forecasting, linkages in operational and financial reporting and the knowledge to manage investment funds.

Sanela Osmic

Qualifications: MIB, BBus

Skills, experience and expertise 

Sanela is an Executive Coach and Managing Director of Ethical Governance Pty Ltd, a coaching company she established to help her clients enhance leadership capacity and improve ethical culture of organisations. She has a strong educational background and extensive experience in governance and relationship management, with specific expertise in human behaviour. Prior to becoming an Executive Coach, Sanela has also served as a Member Engagement Executive with the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD), helping to assess member needs and provide ongoing professional development support; as well as promoting diversity in the boardroom.

Sanela speaks several languages and has a deep understanding of different cultures through living in Bosnia, Germany and Australia. She is very passionate about social justice, equality and inclusion.

George Kogios

Skills, experience and expertise 

George has experience in the following sectors: Finance, Superannuation, Banking, Education, Manufacturing, Advertising and Healthcare. He was formerly the Business Manager and Company Secretary of Heathdale Christian College. He held this position from 2000 to 2014. He is currently Business Manager of Sunbury Downs College and Chairs the OH&S Committee. In both these roles, he was/is responsible for all non-teaching activities such as infrastructure, finance, HR, OH&S and corporate governance and turned two loss-making schools into highly profitable entities. Prior to these George was Assistant Financial Controller at Challenger Life Ltd and previous to this was Fund Secretary running the corporate defined benefit scheme at Cigweld Employees Superannuation Fund.

Jenny McMahon

Jenny is currently the Director City Life at Wyndham City Council commencing in this role 1 July 2016, prior to this she was at Geelong City Council for 5 years.  She has held a number of roles in Local Government including Director Community Services, Director Infrastructure Services, Director Advocacy and various other roles after starting her career as an Early Childhood Educator. She has a strong interest in good governance, particularly in the community and not for profit sectors and has been involved in many community and health organisations across the Western and South Western Regions of Victoria.

John Hedditch

Qualifications: Grad Dip Management

Skills, experience and expertise 

John has deep experience in Commonwealth and State Government having held executive and senior management positions for over 40 years within the Commonwealth Department of Housing and Construction and the Victorian Department of Health and Community Services. More recently John established the Hedditch Group, a consulting agency that aims to deliver responsible social, economic and environmental outcomes through the provision of professional services to the Government, not-for-profit and private sectors. John has always promoted the importance of people, diversity and local communities. In 2016 John was elected Mayor of Brimbank. As Mayor, John will continue to promote the voices of the diverse communities in Brimbank and aim to deliver outcomes for the people. As a Director for IPC Health, John brings a wealth of knowledge in community health, as well as experience gained from working in local, State and Commonwealth Governments.

 Jayne Nelson

Interim CEO

Skills, experience and expertise

Jayne Nelson is an experienced executive who is solutions focused with a strong track record in customer oriented strategies, stakeholder engagement, reputation building and business transformation. Her strengths are in developing strategies and leading complex teams to deliver a service-oriented, high performance work culture. She is a rational leader, assessing all risks, opportunities, and is decisive and proactive once evidence is presented.

Prior to working in the health sector, Jayne worked in higher education and advertising, employed in general management and creative director roles with agencies including MojoPartners; Advertising Australia; and Peach Advertising. She has been involved in the creation, communication and delivery of campaigns for a number of clients including Australia Post, Fosters, Kraft, Tourism Victoria, Nestle, Sydney Water, NIB Health Funds, Australian Red Cross and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Jayne uses her creativity to develop strategy and is able to translate strategy into operations, ensuring business success and sustainability.

Grant Summers

Chief Financial Officer

Qualifications: BCom (Accountancy), CPA

Skills, experience and expertise

Grant has 10+ years experience within business services, being employed within a public practice in Greensborough with a focus on accounting services, business development, business management and taxation within the Aged Care sector.

Grant has also spent time within a multi million dollar Plastic Food Manufacturing company where a heavy emphasis was placed on business processes.

More recently,  Grant has been the Finance Manager for IPC Health since 2009, before moving to the position of Chief Financial Officer in September 2016.

Michelle Dervan

Chief of People and Culture

Qualifications: Master of Business Administration, Graduate Diploma and Graduate Certificate in Human Resources

Skills, experience and expertise

Michelle joins IPC Health as a strategic and commercial senior Human Resources executive with significant experience in diverse industries managing all facets of the people and capability portfolio.

Prior to working in the health sector, Michelle has had senior HR roles at The Brotherhood of St Laurence, Telstra, Optus and Westpac. Michelle was the HR Director at Sensis where she led the people transition from a print to digital organisation, designed and delivered the HR strategy and built the HR team.

Michelle has demonstrated success in aligning people strategy and programs to the organisation’s objectives resulting in increased employee engagement and improved organisational performance and customer experience.  Known for her change management and transformation skills, Michelle has designed and implemented key initiatives that deliver sustainable capability uplift and culture outcomes.  

Jason Hodge

General Manager Operations

Qualifications: MBA

Skills, experience and expertise

Jason has a track record of delivering successful operational and business performance objectives across multi-site environments.
With executive leadership positions in a range of health and health related service environments, Jason places a high value on developing effective working relationships through open and honest two-way communication, he values stakeholder engagement and participation throughout an organisation.

Garry Dickie

Director of Programs & Corporate Services 

Qualifications: BA, Grad Dip Acc, FCPA, PRINCE2 (Practitioner)

Skills, experience and expertise

Garry comes to IPC Health with a diverse background having solid experience in various senior roles, in the Finance, Health, Education and Professional Services sectors. Garry’s particular strengths are in project management, working on large scale business process transformation programs.  Most recently Garry delivered an extensive project at the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
